Terrafix® is a needle-punched staple fibre nonwoven geotextile manufactured from 100 % synthetic fibres. Its three-dimensional fibre structure creates innumerable labyrinth-like pore openings closely simulating the soil structure and its hydraulic properties.

It's main purpose behind retaining walls is to provide a filtering drainage layer. This allows water to flow away from behind the wall, reducing hydrostatic pressure and at the same time, greatly reducing the risk of soil erosion.
